The story
A place apart
At 59.7 square metres, the Deluxe Lake Room gives the house's signature scheme room to breathe. The familiar grammar remains; grey-oak and microcement, a coral-leather king, tibeb weaving and original Ethiopian art ; but with greater volume and a fitted kitchen cabinet for longer, slower stays.
Full-height glass opens to a private balcony above Lake Hayk, framing the water and the distant monastery peninsula. The writing desk, dressing area and minibar are joined by counter and cabinetry for in-room preparation; a quiet luxury for guests who measure their visit in weeks rather than nights.
The beige-stone bathroom carries a soaking tub and a frameless walk-in shower, with fogless mirrors, brass fixtures and branded amenities throughout. With only two in the house, the Deluxe is among the resort's more discreet addresses.
